Nuts and Bolts

Willowtree Recording is a 6 room recording facility housed in a 55’ x 24’ building.

This room is approximately 13’ x 15’ and features a “live end, dead end” design. The ceiling slants from 11’ to 13’ and the back wall is multi-angled.

Recording room one (the “live” room)

This pentagonal shaped room measures 24’ at the floor between the east and west walls (these walls slope to the ceiling at 22 and 45 degree angles) and approximately 14’ from the north wall to the south door. It features a 12’ ceiling and strategically placed acoustic treatment.

Recording room two (the “dead” room)

This is a15’x 15’ room, carpeted, with plenty of broadband absorbing foam treatment. We use movable panels to create a reflection free recording space when desired (a vocal booth, for example).

Guitar amp isolation room

Patch panels on the wall of recording room one allow electric guitar and bass players to “plug into the wall” and isolate their amps or cabinets in this room while recording in the main room with the drummer. The room is approximately 6’ x 8’ at the base. Four channels can be sent from this room to the control room via a balanced XLR connection.

The “foyer”

Mostly storage, this 10’ x 10’ insulated room with two exterior doors also serves as a sound-isolating airlock. An added feature, smokers may use this room provided they close the door to the interior and open the door to the exterior.
